We are a humane society serving a fairly remote area of Northern Manitoba, Canada. We came together as a group in 1998, and incorporated. As a group of dedicated volunteers, we work to raise awareness of the plight of stray and abandoned animals in the rural north, are concerned about pet over-population, and the cruelty and neglect that so often accompanies these conditions. We are trying to implement programs that make people stop and think about their actions towards animals.
If you would like to learn more about us, please click through the pages below - and bookmark us so you can come back to check on us from time to time. We're growing and evolving and we're sure you'll see the changes here!

Stop in and see the animals for yourself, or perhaps grab a leash and take a dog for a walk. Good for both of you!
We are desperately short of foster homes and people to care for the animals at our shelter. If you can help or donate some time Phone 623-1610.

Please do not leave your pets in your car even for a few minutes, it is very hot out there and it can reach dangerous temperatures inside the vehicle very quickly.

Angels
Caring angels are out there in our community, working quietly to help animals in distress. If you know of an angel story, please contact us. We would love to share their stories.
Royal Canin have added us to their donation list. What that means is they regularly have close to out-dating, high quality food that, although the food will be good for a year, they can't sell it in the stores. With so many animals in need in the province, instead of throwing out the food in the landfills, they donate the food to shelters across the province.
With us added to the list, they will be contacting us every time there is food available. Because they are supporting a number of shelters, the amount of food available will vary, from a few bags to a pallet-load. There is a chance that once in a while, a local person who orders from their company will allow us to have our food shipped on their truck along with his order. Other than that, they are willing to hold the food in their warehouse until we can arrange for pick-up (in Wpg).
With this in mind, anyone who is heading to the city and might have room to bring back some food for our shelter, or knows of someone who is, could they please contact me either here or phone me at home 682-7223.
